Nga-man is the best of the best. She is extremely knowledgeable, kind, patient, and most importantly, she loves music and wants to foster that love in her students. She works so hard to get them excited about piano, letting them express themselves creatively while also teaching the fundamentals. She is incredibly sweet and good with small children, and gives all her students opportunities to perform and feel proud of their achievements. I feel lucky to have found her for my daughter!

We are so thankful to be able to have our son (a beginner student) take piano lessons virtually. Even states away from Nga-man, we receive quality, personable and fun lessons. Our 8-year-old loves taking lessons so much that we have to remind him to wait for the whole family to wake up before practicing in the early morning hours! Thank you Nga-man for making learning enjoyable; he is making incredible progress!

I started learning piano with Nga-man when I was in 4th grade and it is sad to see my lessons have come to an end. Although I am leaving for college in a week, my love for piano is something I see continuing on far in the future. The amazing thing about learning with Nga-man is her approach to music - not only is she immensely talented, but she is also passionate and that is something she passes on to her students. Studying an instrument is not a linear journey. There are a lot of bumps and sometimes, when it gets really difficult, it's easy to want to give up. But building a strong relationship with your teacher makes all the difference. Learning piano was a really positive experience for me because Nga-man always put emphasis on the importance of fun and lightheartedness, especially in times of struggle. Music is not something to be forced but something to be understood and it's ok to be frustrated as long as you always go back to the question of "why am I doing this?" and the answer that Nga-man taught me is "because I love the piano!" I highly encourage anybody to pursue their interest in music and Nga-man is a wonderful mentor who I would recommend to anybody. Now, I look back to my times of learning with Nga-man fondly as she has helped me through all of my years of completing the Certificate of Merit up until receiving my senior medal and has been such a warm presence, making me feel all the more passionate about the piano!

I studied with Nga-man for 8.5 years and learned so much from her. One of the earliest memories I have of playing with her was learning a left-hand-only piece, which was really helpful for working on my left-hand dexterity and independence. I remember I had wanted to switch to her for that reason because she had specifically focused on only left-hand pieces for a while after injuring her dominant right hand. On top of that, Nga-man pushed me to be more musical, to let the music move me, and she wasn’t afraid to let me know when I could give more than I thought I could. I think that my experience under her instruction was one of the driving forces that ultimately led me to change my major from biology to music in college. That switch changed my life for the better and I definitely have Nga-man to thank for that.
I’m really grateful that I was able to have Nga-man as one of my piano professors and that I was able to study with her for the time that I did. Since graduating high school, Nga-man and I and several of her other students around my age have kept in touch with her and we always try to see each other in between school and teaching. It’s really exciting that Nga-man is going to be teaching with her own studio and she absolutely deserves everything that she’s worked for and all the success that is coming her way.
